Grant Application Process for Grants more than $5,000

What are the steps?

For grants greater than $5,000, the Sacred People Foundation, Inc. uses a simple 3-step grant application process with the final step being Approval Notification and disbursement of funds.

For an organization’s grant application to be considered, the grant seeker must first submit a Grant Concept Inquiry using the form provided in Step 1 below. This step is designed as an easy way for grant seekers to confirm the foundation’s interest in and its ability to make a grant for the project requested, prior to completing a Grant Application.

Step 2 is the Grant Request Cover Sheet, Grant Application and Budget Template.

Step 3 is Provisional Approval which includes your executing our Sacred People Foundation, Inc. Grant Agreement (which we will provide to you) and mailing hard copies of several documents to the foundation.

The final step is Approval Notification and disbursement of funds.

Prior to submitting a grant application, a grant concept inquiry e-mail must be sent to grants@sacredpeoplefoundation.org. SPF will determine if a project may fit the program parameters the Foundation is interested in. You will be notified of the outcome of your inquiry.
The grant concept inquiry e-mail should include the following information:
- A brief description of the basic need and program specific objectives
- Your organization’s EIN Number / Taxpayer ID indicating that your are a 501c3 corporation
- The amount of money requested
- A brief history of the organization submitting the request.

Grant Request Cover Sheet and Grant Application

Once you have received affirmative interest from your grant inquiry e-mail/letter, you should complete the Grant Request Cover Sheet and the Grant Application. E-mail both together to grants@sacredpeoplefoundation.org when they are complete. The Sacred People Foundation Inc. does not accept grant applications without first receiving and approving a grant concept inquiry. When all of the information is complete, please click submit.

Provisional Approval

If the Sacred People Foundation is interested in funding your Grant Application, you will be issued a Provisional Grant Approval Letter as well as a Grant Agreement. Please complete the Grant Agreement and mail it to the address below along with the following documents:
- A copy of your current IRS Determination Letter
- A copy of your current Annual Operating Budget
- A copy of your organizational chart
- A copy of your most recent Financial Statement (audited if available)
- A copy of your Annual Report (if available)
Once we receive the completed Grant Agreement and the other materials mentioned above, we will issue the funds.
Please Note: Larger grants may be paid out as step payments as noted in you grant agreement. If step payments are to be made, you should receive your initial funding within a couple of weeks.
